can attend! They are held on the second Wednesday of
each month in Philbrick Camp in the “drum” of the

do not last for more than 45 minutes. Refreshments are
served. Come on down, get out of the office and bring a

life easier. Suggestions for future topics are highly
encouraged. Please respond back to this email if you
have any suggestions. Here are the upcoming topics:

Office 2007. Come to this month’s TechTalk to find out
when your department will be upgraded and how you can
prepare for the upgrade. We will also talk about the
transition to the new print servers. Don’t be left
behind! Come and learn what these technology updates
will mean for you and your department.

to get the most up-to-date information you need
regarding the new Vista 4 server. All access to BB Vista
for Spring 2008 is via CentralPipeline.
Classroom Computer Teacher
Workstations – Over Winter break, every
Computer Teacher Workstation was equipped with a new
“Workstation Usage Guide” that will assist faculty
members who are using the station. The guide gives
detailed instructions on how to use the equipment in the
station as well as some common problems and solutions.
We hope that this guide will be helpful for solving the
common problems that might occur and alleviate the need
to wait for help to arrive. You will find the guide
attached to the side of the black box station – tied
with a string for easy access.
Important Network Printing
Announcement - The Information Technology
department is upgrading the University’s print servers,
as the current ones are outdated both in terms of
technology and reliability. The new servers, PRINT1 and
PRINT2, are configured with the latest version of
Windows Server and are designed to minimize downtime.
The new servers are installed and the printers (aka
print queues) have been added. We are now at the point
where users must transition to the new systems meaning
everyone will have to delete the printers that are
currently on their workstations and add the new ones.
During the next few weeks, you will be requested by
email to follow the attached, step-by-step instructions
to make the switch. Please, at your earliest
opportunity, set aside five or ten minutes to perform
the operation. As always, the IT Help Desk will be
available to assist you should you need help.
