Non-University Directory Assistance
On March 25, 2005, Governor M. Jodi Rell issued a press release asking State employees to assist the State government in saving money by eliminating or limiting the use of calls to directory assistance. Between the period of October 2003 and February 2005, more than half a million calls were placed from State agencies to directory assistance with a cost of nearly $400,000.
To assist with the Governor’s initiative, Central Connecticut State University has decided to
block all calls to directory assistance from the University’s landline telephones effective
April 15, 2005.

Telephone directories are another useful resource. Local directories may be ordered directly through SBC by calling 800.922.0008.
