Network Maintenance in Henry Barnard Hall, Sunday July 22^nd, 6:00am–3:00pm - Henry Barnard’s network will be unavailable due to scheduled maintenance. Work will begin at approximately 6:00am. We hope to have services restored by 3:00pm.  Access to the Internet, Banner and other systems will be possible from campus with the exception of Henry Barnard during this time.

Blackboard Vista Maintenance, Sunday July 22^nd, 6:00am–12:00pm - Regular Blackboard Vista maintenance is scheduled every Sunday morning from 6:00am – 10:00am.  This Sunday, the maintenance period will be extended until noon to allow for extra work that needs to be done in preparation for future upgrades.  During this time, access to Blackboard Vista will not be possible.

Blue Chip System Maintenance, Friday July 20^th, 3:00pm-4:00pm -  Maintenance to the Blue Chip system will take place from approximately 3:00pm – 4:00pm.  During this time, purchases using your Blue Chip card in vending machines, pay-for-print/copy and off campus merchants will not be possible.

Telephone Changes: Telecommunication Service Request Forms (TSR) - As summer is a busy season for Telecommunications, any telephone additions, moves or changes needed for the start of the Fall semester must be received in the ITS/Telecom Office by Friday, August 3, 2007.  Any TSR’s received after this date cannot be guaranteed to be completed before the semester begins.  TSR’s may be found on the Telecom website:  www.ccsu.edu/its/telecom/tsr.htm

Microsoft Office 2007 Workshops - Attend a workshop this summer to familiarize yourself with the new “Office Fluent” interface and learn how you can be one of the first users on campus to upgrade to Office 2007.  In the “Get to Know Office 2007” workshop, we will cover universal features such as the Ribbon, Tabs, and Office button.  Attend one of our “What’s New” workshops to learn about new features of each application (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word).  To register for a workshop, visit www.ccsu.edu/cutt and click on Workshop Schedule.

Important Information for faculty teaching in computerized classrooms this summer – upgrade from Microsoft Office 2003 to 2007 – ITS will be upgrading the software in all computer classrooms and labs during the summer months.  A major part of the new software image is the upgrade from Office 2003 to Office 2007.  Office 2007 has a very different look and feel.  Faculty who are teaching summer classes that use Microsoft Office as part of the class curriculum, need to be aware that one day they might see Office 2003 and the next day it might be Office 2007.  ITS will communicate with summer teaching faculty when the installs will be taking place so that there are no big surprises.

To reserve a Loaner Laptop, please send an email to HD_comment@ccsu.edu  with “Loaner Laptop” in the subject line. Please indicate the dates in which you will need the laptop, and specify if you would like a PC or Macintosh. Once the request has been submitted, you will notified within two days as to whether or not laptops are available, as well as the scheduled time that you will be able to come pick up your laptop.
