How Can I reduce the amount of junk email I receive?
Here is a list of a few things that you can do to reduce the amount of
junk email you receive.
-
ITS has implemented MailFrontier as its spam solution. Visit
MailFrontier-CCSU'S Anti-Spam Solution
for more
information, or call the Help Desk at 832-1720.
- Do not respond to junk email or try to unsubscribe. The reason is
the moment you try to unsubscribe or respond to the junk email, the
spammer knows that the account is valid and will keep using it and will
sell it to other spammers as an active account.
- Do not post to news groups. The reason is that spammers look at news
groups to get email addresses and then will start spamming these
addresses.
- Utilize the email rules
option in Outlook. You can create rules that will remove emails
from certain senders, with a specific word in the subject or body of the
email message. For more information on how to create rules in
Outlook,

click here for Outlook 2000 instructions,
