The Connecticut Department of Transportation (ConnDOT) Division of Contract Compliance has contracted with Central Connecticut State University’s Institute of Technology and Business Development (CCSU-ITBD) to host the Connecticut Business Opportunities and Workforce Development Center (CT BOWD CENTER) and administer business and workforce development services to certified DBE
firms and to On-the-Job-Training program participants.

The CT BOWD Center will provide business development and supportive services through the CT BOWD Center Business Development Program to Connecticut certified Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) firms looking to develop their self-sufficiency and enhance their competitiveness in the marketplace.  The Center will also provide Workforce Development services, with the goal of advancing the career and business opportunities of women and minorities in the transportation industry.

Disadvantaged Business Enterprise firms that are enrolled or who have completed the CT BOWD Center Business Development Program will have full access to the CT BOWD Center, in addition to being eligible to receive expert one-on-one support and development services.  Additionally, these firms will have first priority for enrollment in CT BOWD Center sponsored workshops and events.  Firms that are not enrolled in the CT BOWD Center Business Development Program but are DBE Certified will have access to the resource library which will have copies of ConnDOT’s Plans and Specifications, and Requests for Proposals/Qualifications.  The Center also has computer, printer, copier, fax capabilities and selective office support services.

If your firm would like to enroll or would like more information about the CT BOWD Center Business Development Program, please contact Ms. Shari Pratt by phone at (860) 594-2171, or by e-mail at shari.pratt@po.state.ct.us.

The CT BOWD Center is open Monday through Friday. For hours of operation and additional information, please contact Ms. Nancy Kraczkowsky by phone at (860) 832-0708, or by e-mail at deveau_jas@ccsu.edu.
