New Phone System

The cutover to the new phone system is nearly complete.  Visit our VOIP information page for more information and updates.

 

Walk-in Support

A reminder that Walk-in Support is now located in Marcus White (entrance facing Social Sciences Hall).  Walk-in Support is an extension of the IT Help Desk and provides in-person technology support for your portable devices and more.

 

Sunday Maintenance Reminder

Every Sunday from 12:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. all systems (e-mail, Banner, wireless, etc.) will be intermittently unavailable while important maintenance and updates are performed.

 

Weekly Maintenance – Reminder

Please log off your computer when leaving for the day every Thursday, but do not power it off.  This will allow updates to be sent down to your computer on Friday after 12:00am.  If you turn your computer off and leave it off overnight on Thursday, shortly after turning it back on, your computer will restart in order to install and apply any updates. If you leave your computer logged in Thursday night into Friday, you may lose any unsaved data you were working on when the computer restarts.

IT Support Hours – Wednesday, November 23

As there are no classes today, the Walk-in Support Center will be open until 3pm.  The Help Desk will be open until 5pm.

 

Network Maintenance – Friday, November 25

Several buildings will undergo network maintenance early Friday morning. After these updates are complete it may be necessary to reboot your computer or network printer in order to reconnect to the campus network.  The areas affected are:

·         Davidson Hall

·         Welte Hall

·         Student Center

·         Copernicus Hall

·         Robert Vance Academic Center

·         Student Center Garage

·         East Hall

·         Social Sciences Hall

·         Greenhouse

 

Please contact the IT Help Desk should you experience network issues after this maintenance is performed.

 

Blackboard Learn Transition

As you already may know, we will be moving to a new Blackboard environment!  The decision to move to SAAS (software as a service) is the result of the Blackboard contract extension for the purpose of having our own unique instance of Blackboard Learn.  This move is set to take place January 3, 2017 and we are working to minimize any service interruptions.  We will be sending out a separate announcement next week with important dates.

 

Blackboard Learn Q&A Session

Thank you to all who attended our Q&A session on November 21.  Our next session will be help on Monday, December 5 at 3:15pm in the Sprague/Carlton room of the Student Center.
