Weekly Maintenance – Reminder

Please log off your computer when leaving for the day every Thursday, but do not power it off.  This will allow updates to be sent down to your computer on Friday after 12:00am.  If you turn your computer off and leave it off overnight on Thursday, shortly after turning it back on, your computer will restart in order to install and apply any updates. If you leave your computer logged in Thursday night into Friday, you may lose any unsaved data you were working on when the computer restarts.

Important Windows security patches will be sent to all CCSU computers that are connected to the wired campus network.  Please keep your computer on over the weekend and logged off as the updates require a reboot.  If you have a CCSU issued laptop, please connect it to the wired network overnight.  If your laptop is not here please bring it in next week and connect it overnight in order to receive these important updates.

Blackboard Learn Transition

As you already may know, we will be moving to a new Blackboard environment!  The decision to move to SAAS (software as a service) is the result of the Blackboard contract extension for the purpose of having our own unique instance of Blackboard Learn.  This move is set to take place January 3, 2017 and we are working to minimize any service interruptions.

Winter Intersession Courses

The Winter intersession will not be moving to the new environment until after it has completed and final grades are posted.   The first semester on the new environment will be the Spring 2017 semester.

Course Migrations – ongoing

We will be migrating courses starting with Fall 2014 and moving forward.  We have begun the Fall 2014 migration process.  Please do not make any changes to these courses.

Kaltura Upgrade – November 22, 2016 starting at 1pm

In preparing for the new Blackboard environment, we need to upgrade Kaltura.  This may result in a short, temporary interruption.

Q&A Session

If you have questions about this transition,  please attend our Q&A on Monday, November 21 at 3:05pm at the Philbrick Room of the Student Center.
