IT Announcement - 5/21/2015
Sunday Maintenance Reminder
Every Sunday from 12am until 12pm all Systems (e-mail, Banner, wireless, etc.) will be intermittently unavailable while important maintenance and updates are performed.
Weekly Maintenance – Reminder
Please log off your computer when leaving for the day every Thursday, but do not power it off. This will allow updates to be sent down to your computer on Friday after 12:00am. If you turn your computer off and leave it off overnight on Thursday, shortly after turning it back on, your computer will restart in order to install and apply any updates. If you leave your computer logged in Thursday night into Friday, you may lose any unsaved data you were working on when the computer restarts.
Blackboard Learn Extended Service Maintenance – FridayMay 22, 1:00am to 7:00am
- Blackboard managed hosting will be performing system maintenance on Friday, May 22 from 1:00am until 7:00am to perform infrastructure upgrades.
- The application will NOT be available for use during this time.
- Please plan accordingly to avoid this timeframe.
CCSU Listserv Maintenance – Thursday May 28 and Friday May 29
Use and access to the CCSU Listservs will be intermittent these two days as system upgrades are performed.
Blackboard Learn - YouTube Tool Device Error
When searching for a video through Blackboard the search results will only display one video containing a device support error. This is an issue with the link between Blackboard Learn and YouTube. Blackboard is working to resolve this issue. The workaround is to insert a web link to the YouTube video. Any videos previously attached through the tool will continue to work.
Blackboard Learn - Prepping Your Course
Now is the time to prep your courses for the upcoming semesters. We have put together a Blackboard Learn “Prepping your Course” information sheet and are offering workshops throughout the summer.
Register today to attend workshops on Blackboard Learn or MS Office 2013. We offer a variety of topics.
Telecommunication Service Request (TSR) Forms
As summer is a busy season for Telecommunications, any telephone moves, adds, changes or disconnects needed for the start of the Fall semester must be received in the IT/Telecom Office by Friday, August 7, 2015. Any TSR’s received after this date cannot be guaranteed to be completed before the semester begins. TSR’s may be found on the Telecom website .
You can also peruse the online, self-paced tutorials for both Blackboard Learn and MS Office 2013 in the Organizations@ccsu tab in Blackboard Learn. If you do not see a training session that meets your needs, please email email@example.com to schedule an individual training session.
