Sunday Maintenance Reminder
Every Sunday from 12am until 12pm all Systems (e-mail, Banner, wireless, etc.) will be intermittently unavailable while important maintenance and updates are performed.
Weekly Maintenance – Reminder
Please log off your computer when leaving for the day every Thursday, but do not power it off. This will allow updates to be sent down to your computer on Friday after 12:00am. If you turn your computer off and leave it off overnight on Thursday, shortly after turning it back on, your computer will restart in order to install and apply any updates. If you leave your computer logged in Thursday night into Friday, you may lose any unsaved data you were working on when the computer restarts.
Green Printer Initiative
Do you have an OLD printer that isn’t doing too well and want a free upgrade? We have a limited number of duplex printers to help departments save on paper and reduce energy consumption. If you are interested in being considered for this program, please contact the IT Help Desk. Please be sure to provide the model number of your printer and state asset tag. These duplex printers are only for networked printing (which requires an available data drop), with a minimum of 4 people sharing the printer.
New Employee BlueNet Account Request System
We are pleased to introduce our New Employee BlueNet Account Request System. In lieu of submitting a paper BlueNet Account request form, supervisors (or their delegates) may log in to this online system to request a BlueNet account for a new employee. Using the New Employee BlueNet Account Request System speeds up the account creation process. Within 15 minutes of submitting a BlueNet account request for a new employee online, the designated supervisor will receive an email to confirm account creation and to provide further instructions for the employee to activate their account. The New Employee BlueNet Account Request System can be accessed under the Access and Request Forms section of the IT web site or directly by clicking here. BlueNet Account requests for vendors or unpaid employees continue to require a paper form; this form can be found under the Access and Request Forms section of the IT web site.

A major component of our IT web strategy is the IT Service Catalog. This is a comprehensive, searchable listing of services offered by our department. To access the service catalog, visit our home page at www.ccsu.edu/it and click on the IT Services button. We will be continuously adding and updating this tool.

Blackboard Learn Training
Due to the snow cancellations and delays, you may want to consider using Bb Learn to supplement your classes. We invite you to attend a training session or peruse the online tutorials in the Organizations@ccsu tab in Bb Learn. If you do not see a training session that meets your needs, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule an individual training session.

Microsoft Office 2013 on Campus
If you would like to have Office 2013 for Windows installed on your office computer, please follow these steps:
1. Click on the Windows Start button in the bottom left of the screen.
2. On the line that appears, Search Programs and files, type the word Software.
3. At the top of the list, you will see the words Software Center, click on that to launch the Software Center.
4. Check the box to the left of “Microsoft Office 2013 32 bit”.
5. Click the [INSTALL] button in the bottom right corner of the Software Center screen to start the install.
