Stanislaus A. Blejwas Memorial Scholarship (2009)

  • Provides support to a currently enrolled full-time undergraduate or graduate student who demonstrates an interest in Polish issues. Preference will be given to a student enrolled in an interdisciplinary academic minor in Polish Studies or to a CCSU student who studies in Poland for a semester or a year.

    Special Application Instructions:

    • Applicants must submit a statement of not more than 250 words, detailing specifically how they have dedicated themselves to Polish scholarship and to involvement and leadership in the Polish community, and two letters of recommendation from faculty members, school counselors, or notable persons from the community.

Merrill & Gertrude Bridge Scholarship

  • Provides support for an undergraduate student majoring in History with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

David DeNuccio Graduate Scholarship (2307)

  • Provides financial support for the recognition of outstanding performance by graduate students in the CCSU Department of Biological Sciences.  These awards are for the most worthy graduate students in each of the three majors:  M.A. - Biological Sciences; M.S. - Biological Sciences; M.S. - Biological Sciences-Anesthesia

Alexander J. Federowicz Scholarship (9140)

  • Polish born, full-time, matriculated undergraduate student currently studying at CCSU.

  • Earned 60 credits in residence at CCSU with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 in any field of study.

    Special Application Instructions:

    • Applicants must submit a statement of not more than 250 words, detailing the need for the scholarship.

Grzyb Memorial Scholarship (2370)

  • Student of American birth who excels in Polish Studies at CCSU.

June Baker Higgins Scholarship

  • Provides scholarship support for a matriculated junior undergraduate student with a major or minor in Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies, who exhibits academic excellence and outstanding potential. A recipient of the scholarship, who maintains a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.00, may be awarded the scholarship again for the senior year.

Miano Memorial Scholarship (2660)

  • Junior level student chosen alternately from science or mathematics majors and arts or humanities majors; minimum grade point average of 3.0.

Modern Languages Scholarship

  • Provides scholarship support for students majoring in modern languages.

Hughson Mooney Scholarship (2695)

  • Matriculated, full-time, junior level student majoring in History

  • Minimum grade point average of 3.0 or better

  • Demonstrated lack of sufficient means to meet the cost of higher education and documented efforts to finance higher education costs through full or part-time employment

    Special Application Instructions:

    • Applicants must submit a statement not to exceed 300 words discussing their career goals, the manner in which a history degree will help them achieve these goals, and the financial constraints that they face.

Brian M. O'Connell Scholarship

  • Must be enrolled as full-time, matriculated undergraduate students at CCSU in the semester that the scholarship is awarded,
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, and
  • Must have completed at least 60 credits in residence at CCSU by the end of the spring semester in the year in which they apply for the scholarship,
  • Must demonstrate qualities of service, leadership, and academic excellence.

Timothy Rickard Scholarship

  • Provide scholarships to junior undergraduate geography majors who shows the greatest promise as professional geographers, or to graduate and undergraduate geography majors to present papers and otherwise participate in regional, national and international scholarly conferences in geography

Timothy D. Shine Scholarship (4510)

  • Support for first-year or continuing students majoring in Chemistry.

Jerome Vigdor Memorial Scholarship (2870)

  • Graduating senior majoring in economics who has been accepted for graduate studies at an accredited college or university.

Paul Vouras Scholarship (2880)

  • Graduating senior with the highest cumulative grade point average of a student majoring in Social Science, Geography, Sociology, Political Science, Economics, or History.

    Special Application Instructions:

    • Applications are not accepted for this award.

H. G. Peter Wallach Scholarship (2940)

  • Full-time undergraduate student at CCSU with 30 hours of earned academic credit and a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA.

  • Preference given to students who are majoring in political science or who have demonstrated an understanding of current issues in civil liberties and constitutional law or who will be engaging in study in Germany.
