Incoming First Year Students

Carmine J. Abate Scholarship (2003)

  • Recipient must be a graduate of New Britain High School who participated in varsity football at the high school.

  • Accepted for admission as a first-time, full-time matriculated undergraduate student at Central.

  • Preference will be given to applicants who enroll in the Construction Management or Civil Engineering Technology majors.

Jack Arute, Sr. Scholarship (2032)

  • Recipient must be a graduate of New Britain High School or E.C. Goodwin Technical School, rank in top third of graduating class with an SAT score of 1000 or higher.

  • Accepted for admission or currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate majoring in Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Technology.

  • Demonstrated leadership in extra-curricular or community activities.

Anthony & Helen G. Bichum Scholarship (2007)

  • Support for selected incoming first-year and transfer students accepted for admission into the School of Engineering and Technology. First-year students must rank in the top third of their graduating class and have achieved a minimum of 1100 on the SAT. Transfer students must have an overall collegiate grade point average of 3.5 or higher for all work completed at accredited colleges with a minimum of 30 semester hours completed.

Special Application Instructions:

  • Students who meet the minimum criteria are nominated annually by the Director of Recruitment and Admissions and reviewed by the Dean and Faculty of the School of Engineering and Technology. Applications are not accepted for this scholarship.

Foundation Scholars Scholarship (2150)

  • Support for selected incoming first-year students who rank in the top 25% of their graduating class and have achieved a minimum of 1100 on the SAT.

    Special Application Instructions:

    • Ten recipients who meet the minimum criteria are nominated annually by the Director of Recruitment and Admissions.  Applications are not accepted for this scholarship.

CBA Construction Law Scholarship (2182)

  • Awarded to incoming and continuing students majoring in Construction Management or Civil Engineering Technology.

Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) – Hartford Chapter Scholarship (2303)

  • Awarded to first year students at CCSU whose academic and career interests are in the area of Construction Management or Civil Engineering Technology.

  • Demonstrated outstanding academic achievement in high school and on the SAT exam.

Friends of New Britain High School Football Scholarship (2420)

  • Graduate of New Britain High School who participated in varsity football.

  • Student must register for 15 semester hours of credit at CCSU and earn a minimum grade point average of 2.5 in their first semester.

W. Terry Owens/Ann Murtha Scholarship (2430)

  • Graduating senior from an accredited high school in New Britain, Berlin or Kensington.

  • Minimum of a B+ average and ranked in the top 35% of the graduating class.

  • Combined SAT score of 1100.

  • Accepted for admission at CCSU as a full-time, matriculated, undergraduate student.

Anna Bubser-Judd Trust Scholarship (2491)

  • Support for students from Hartford or West Hartford, Connecticut with evidence of academic achievement, community involvement, demonstrated leadership, and commitment to diversity.

  • First year students must place in the top 40% of their graduating class or have a combined SAT of 1,000 or more.

  • Transfer students must have a minimum of 30 credits and a 2.7 cumulative average.

  • Students must be enrolled full-time for the award period.

Helen Garabedian Scholarship (2545)

  • A student of Armenian decent in good academic standing.

  • Incoming students:  SAT score of 1050 or higher; rank in top third of graduating class.

Thomas F. Martucci Scholarship (2580)

  • Senior students at Newington High School in Newington, Connecticut or Plainville High School in Plainville, Connecticut in good academic and disciplinary standing who have been accepted for enrollment as incoming first-year students at Central Connecticut State University and have paid the non-refundable admissions binder.

  • Applicants shall present a demonstrated record of participation and leadership in extra-curricular activities.

Paul K. Rogers Scholarship (2805)

  • Provides support for incoming first-year students pursuing majors in business or industrial technology.

Pettinico Family Scholarship (2810)

  • Graduating senior from Wolcott High School in Wolcott, CT.

  • Combined SAT score of 1150 or higher.

  • Rank in top twenty-five (25) students in the graduating class.

  • Evidence of leadership in church, school or civic activities.

David T. Rybczyk Scholarship (2821)

  • Support for a graduate of Plainville High School accepted at CCSU as a first-year, full-time undergraduate student.

  • Applicant must have participated in varsity athletics at the high school level.

WKND Scholarship Initiative Scholarship (2970)

  • Support for first-time, first year, full-time matriculated undergraduate students who are graduates of an accredited high school in Bloomfield, East Hartford, Hartford or Windsor.

  • SAT score of 1000 or higher.

  • Ranked in the top third of the graduating class.

  • Demonstrated leadership in school and community extracurricular activities.

C.R. Klewin/Michael J. D’Amato Scholarship (4100)

  • Awarded to incoming and continuing students majoring in Construction Management or Civil Engineering Technology.

Duffy Family Scholarship (4180)

  • Support for first-time, first year, full-time matriculated undergraduate students who has been accepted to the School of Technology at CCSU.

  • Financial need may be considered at the discretion of the faculty.

Timothy D. Shine Scholarship (4510)

  • Support for first-year or continuing students majoring in Chemistry.

Rowland-Reflexite Technology Scholarship (9425)

  • Recipient must be a resident of New Britain, Southington, Berlin, Kensington, or Newington.

  • Awarded to incoming and continuing students majoring in Computer Electronics and Graphics Technology, Engineering Technology, or Manufacturing and Construction Management.

  • Incoming students who graduated in the top 50 percent of his/her graduating class, and has an SAT score greater than the average of the incoming class at CCSU or returning students who have a GPA of 3.0 or better.

  • Demonstrated qualities of service, leadership and academic achievement.

  • Student must be interested in possible part-time or summer employment at Reflexite.
