ImageSITE COORDINATOR [SEARCH/TRACKING #C06-009]

Pre-Collegiate & Access Services (PAS) seeks a Site Coordinator to coordinate a grant-funded program on college preparation and awareness administered by CCSU.

Duties include, but are not limited to: 

·         Provides direct services and coordinates related program services for students participating in grant-funded programs on college preparation and awareness administered by Central Connecticut State University.  Works closely with personnel of a designed school system and University personnel to identify and recruit students; provides academic, career, personal and tutorial advising, designs, coordinates and implements program activities on site at the school, on campus and in the community.

·         Builds support among parents and in the school community through outreach activities with the assistance of PAS Director, as well as coordinates on site-tutorial and enrichment programs, and plans on-campus cultural activities including a summer academic program.

·         Acts as liaison between campus and school system and community.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and two years experience working with a wide variety of students from educationally disadvantaged backgrounds from middle and high school levels is required.  Master’s degree in a related area and bilingual skills preferred.  An equivalent combination of credentials and/or experience may also be considered.

ImageProvost & Vice President, Academic Affairs [search/tracking #C06-005]

Reporting to the University President, the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs is the chief academic officer for the University.  The position will provide leadership in the development of the campus curriculum, academic policy and strategic planning, academic budgeting, the library, academic computing, continuing education, grants, sponsored programs, registration and enrollment management. 

Minimum Qualifications: Earned doctorate or its equivalent, together with a demonstrated record of successful teaching and curriculum development at the university level and in facilitating the work of faculty in a leadership role; demonstrated record of progressively responsible experience in formulating academic policy, budget planning and development, university strategic planning,  enrollment management, and faculty development, including promotion, tenure, and evaluation; demonstrated ability to work effectively with administrators, faculty, and students; and knowledge of contemporary issues and trends in higher education.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a four year institution.

ImageChief Information Officer [Search/tracking #A-508]

Reporting to the University President, the Chief Information Officer will provide leadership, vision, oversight, planning and management of all aspects of information technology.  Areas of responsibility include academic and administrative computing, the media center, computer center, telecommunications, data and voice networking, user support services, and technical aspects of distance and distributive education, both on and off campus.

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field and a demonstrated record of progressively responsible experience in managing information technology in a large, complex organization; extensive knowledge of appropriate IT hardware, software, web-based development tools, and multi-media applications; strong  leadership skills; experience managing personnel in a large, diverse setting.

Preferred: Experience working in a higher education setting.

Reporting to the University President, the Chief Financial Officer provides leadership, policy direction and management for the financial functions of the University.  Responsibilities  include development of operating and capital budgets, coordination of financial planning and reporting systems, and management oversight of fiscal administrative operation.

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Business Administration or related field, and a demonstrated record of progressively responsible experience managing finances and administration in a complex organization.  Demonstrated ability to manage the financial and administrative operations of a large complex organization with sound administrative and fiscal control.  Experience developing and managing current and long-term budgets with sound financial projections.

Preferred: Experience working in a higher education setting.

ImageAssistant Director, Financial Aid [Search/Tracking #C06-018]

The Central CT State University (CCSU) Financial Aid Office seeks applications for Assistant Director to advise, review and process student financial aid applications. 

Responsibilities:

Perform verification as required by awarding agencies, federal and state regulations, and University policies.  Serves as liaison with parents and students, campus faculty and administrators, and other interests to provide students and the University with effective and efficient service.

 

Effectively administers state, federal, University, CCSU Foundation, and other financial aid related programs.  Provides diligent administration of university aid programs to prevent over awards of scholarships, student loans, and work-study earnings.

Meets the information needs of the University’s students, faculty and administrators by providing information to students, parents and others concerning financial assistance programs at CCSU and other sources.

Assists the Associate Director with maintenance and administration of the software required to administer/deliver financial aid programs.

ImageUNIVERSITY ASSISTANT - CONTINUING EDUCATION

Position is 19 hours per week with some flexibility in schedule.  Must be able to work Mon and Wed 3pm to 6pm.  $13-$15/hr based on applicant credentials.

Job duties will include, but not be limited to:

Work related to Vocational Technical Education Course Offerings

  • Generate VTE-related reports
  • Produce and deliver VTE mailings
  • Process VTE faculty teaching contracts
  • Secure off-campus locations for CTE classes
  • Order books

 

Work related to Program Planning/Continuing Education

  • Initiate telephone contact with local/regional companies to originate meetings for Program Planner regarding possible class/program offerings
  • Develop and maintain tickler file for telephone contact
  • Register program participants; as needed
  • Assist in financial analysis of programs
  • Assist in creation of publicity material for programs (graphic and text)
  • Frontline/counter work as needed

Qualifications:  Computer literate with knowledge of Outlook, Word,  Frontpage, Excel and Publisher.   Must be dependable and pay strong attention to detail.  Excellent communication and customer service skills are also required.

ImageUNIVERSITY ASSISTANT - OFFICE AUTOMATION SPECIALIST

Position is 19 hours per week with some flexibility in schedule.  $15-$18/hr based on applicant credentials.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide system support in the University Card Office, supporting the various Card Office technologies (both hardware & software); 
  • Automate existing paper processes;
  • Automate detection of hardware failures;
  • Provide backup support to front desk operations when needed. 

Qualifications: Experience with VBA, relational databases, Microsoft Word, Excel & Access required.  Unix scripting, MS-SQL, Oracle, HTML, ASP experience preferred.  Experience troubleshooting hardware issues a plus.  Must be dependable.  Excellent communication and customer service skills are also required.

ImageHELP DESK - UNIVERSITY ASSISTANTS

Information Technology Services is seeking three University Assistants to provide phone-based technical support to faculty, staff and students.  Position is 19 hours per week with little flexibility in schedule.  $15-$18/hr based on applicant credentials. 

Monday through Friday – 9:00am – 1:00 pm

Monday through Friday - 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Monday through Thursday - 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Responsibilities: Provide user support for personal computers, the campus network and various supported system applications for the campus community. Assist with all help desk operations.  Provide first level support for calls and requests received by the Help Desk. Responsibilities include: trouble identification and resolution, follow up, data entry, documentation of problems and procedures, utilization of help desk software, and dispatching services when necessary.

Qualifications: Knowledge of Microsoft products (Office XP, and Windows XP) required. Experience in a technical or business related area in a help desk or customer service environment in a large organization preferred.  Must be dependable.  Excellent communication and customer service skills are also required.

ImageAssistant Professor – Linguistics [Search/Tracking #F-350]

Central CT State University’ (CCSU’s) English Department seeks tenure-track Assistant Professor of Linguistics (Phonology) to teach courses in theoretical and applied linguistics (especially phonology) in TESOL MS and certification programs; includes possible supervision of pre-K-12 student teachers, other practica, and a course in second language composition.  Other teaching responsibilities include undergraduate courses in introduction to linguistics, language acquisition, and languages of the world.  Four course teaching load per semester with the opportunity for release time for research.  Further responsibilities include committee work, participation in conferences, and publication.  Competitive salary and excellent benefits.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in linguistics, primary specialization in phonology, with a strong background in applied linguistics/TESOL.

ImageASSOCIATE DEAN OF THE SCHOOL OF TECHNOLOGY [Search/Tracking #A-511]

Central Connecticut State University invites applications for the position of Associate Dean of the School of Technology. 

The Associate Dean assists the Dean with wide range of schools activities including facilities management.  The School of Technology includes the departments of : Biomolecular Sciences, Computer Electronics and Graphics Technology, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing and construction Management, and Technology Education.  It offers undergraduate and graduate programs.  It includes 40 full-time faculty and serves over 1000 undergraduate and graduate students (www.ccsu.edu/technology)

The qualifications for the position include a master degree (Ph.D. preferred) from an accredited school in one of the disciplinary areas represented by the School.  Required qualifications include five years of an academic administrative experience, a record clearly demonstrating commitment to participatory decision-making and excellent communication skills.  Experience in; budgetary and facilities management, outside funding through grant activities, student recruitment and familiarity with collective bargaining environment will be an additional attribute.
