EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

The University, in conjunction with the Lexington Group, offers an Employee Assistance Program. This program is a free, short-term counseling, assessment and referral service available to you and eligible family members. If you or a family member is experiencing marital or family problems, substance abuse, financial, legal or other personal problems, this voluntary program provides the opportunity to get help in resolving those problems as quickly as possible.

If outside help is needed, the program will assist you in locating services that are covered by your insurance or find reasonable alternatives.

Recognizing the importance of your privacy, all information that you share with a counselor will remain strictly confidential.  Further information on the Employee Assistance Program is available in Human Resources or by calling or emailing the EAP at the Lexington Group - (800) .

CHILD CARE CENTER

The Judith Ward Center houses the Early Learning Program, Inc. This program is geared to provide a positive and safe learning environment for children aged 3-4 years. The philosophy of the Center is that young children learn through an active involvement with people, objects, and natural materials. The hours of operation for the center are Monday-Friday, 7:45 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Further information regarding the enrollment process and tuition rates can be obtained by calling the Center at 832-3760.

LIBRARY SERVICES

The University's Elihu Burritt Library is located adjacent to the Student Center Building. Some of the many services provided by the Library include: Reference Service, Family/Staff Open Access Card Program, Interlibrary Loan, Online Searching and Bibliographic Instruction.

FITNESS-WELLNESS PROGRAM

Located in Clarence Carroll Hall, the Fitness-Wellness Program is designed to provide an individualized program to meet your specific fitness and wellness goals and needs. In addition to personal trainers, Cardiovascular equipment (cycle ergometers, stair steppers, Nordic Track, Versa-Climber, Rower, and Treadmill) and Resistance/Weight Training equipment (fourteen resistance weight machines to develop all the major muscle groups of the body and free-weight dumbbells for specific exercises to develop specific muscle groups) are available. Additional information on rates and hours can be obtained by calling the Center at 832-2512.

PARKING

Free parking is available to all faculty, staff and students of the University. There are several parking lots on the campus designated specifically for faculty and staff. There are also two parking garages. Parking in the faculty/staff lots require a current parking decal that can be obtained from the University's Office of Public Safety.

BOOKSTORE

The Barnes and Noble Bookstore provides textbooks, art supplies, stationary items, toiletries, records, paperbacks, snacks and college apparel. With appropriate identification, a 10% discount is afforded the University's faculty and staff. The bookstore can be reached at 832-2665.

DINING FACILITIES

Dining facilities for faculty and staff are located in Memorial Hall and the Student Center. The Nutmeg Room located on the ground floor of Memorial Hall is strictly a faculty/staff dining facility. The Devil's Den, a cafeteria-style eatery is located in the Student Center and is used by both the faculty/staff and student population.

HEALTH SERVICES

The University's Health Services Department is located in Marcus White Annex. The Department is staffed with a full-time medical doctor and staff nurses. Urgent care is available to faculty and staff. However, you are encouraged to follow-up with your personal physician.
