Audrey W. Riggins received her B.S., in paralegal studies 2015, and paralegal certificate (ABA) 2009 from University of Hartford. Audrey joined the History Department at CCSU as Secretary 2 in 2015. Prior to her arrival at CCSU, she was an Office Manager employed by the Department of Emergency Services & Public Protection (Narcotics) from 2005-2015 and Department of Correction Training Academy from 2000-2003.

Audrey did her paralegal internship with the New Haven State‘s Attorney General Office, observing all levels of court proceedings from arraignment, pre-trial to trial including motor vehicle, domestic violence, narcotic drug and weapon cases; Department of Emergency Services & Public Protection (Legal Department) reviewed and organized regulation files for transfer and archiving. Also, she did pro bono work with Foreclosure Clinic, Lawyer’s for Children America, Statewide Legal Services – Pardon Assistance Program, Middletown, CT and Hartford State’s Attorney General Office - Health Care Fraud Unit.

Audrey received scholarship awards from Central Connecticut Paralegal Association (CCPA) 2005 and 2007, Connecticut Pro Bono Network (CBA) 2005 Honor Roll edition of The Connecticut Lawyer, Joan Metcalfe 2005 and 2007, CCPA/Kelly Law Registry 2007, National Federation of Paralegal Associations, Inc., (NFPA) 2005. She received the award of distinction for outstanding service and dedication for providing pro bono service and volunteering to assist low-income residents in need of legal assistance; exceeded the 24-hour goal set by NFPA’s Model Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility and Guidelines for Enforcement and Rebecca F. Ganci, R.P. Memorial Scholarship 2007. Also, she is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association.
