In addition to standard university graduate admission requirements, the Department of Design (Graphic / Information) requires that successful applicants submit the following materials directly to the department, to the attention of Professor Susan Vial:

  1. Application Essay including applicant's reasons for pursuing graduate study in Information Design and future  career goals

  2. A slide or CD ROM Portfolio (Macintosh compatible) containing ten examples of applicant's design work. The portfolio must meet department admissions committee approval for design quality.

Please note that all applicants must have an undergraduate Grade Point Average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and 12 credits of undergraduate course work in graphic design with a grade of "B" or better. These courses will be reviewed by the department for discipline-specific content as they relate to the M.A. in Information Design.
