Summer Course Registration

Summer Aid Request Form

Cooperative Education

Summer school sessions registration for classes is administered by the Enrollment Center in Willard 111.

To receive financial aid for the summer school sessions a student must be fully matriculated as a student at CCSU. In addition, the student must have a FAFSA on file with the Financial Aid Office for the current academic year.

The Financial Aid Office begins accepting Summer School Financial Ad requests April 1st. Upon receipt of the request, it is determined if the student is eligible to receive any financial aid based on availability. For example, if the student has already received and utilized all eligible financial aid for the academic year during the Fall and Spring semesters, then no financial aid can be awarded.

A minimum of six (6) credit hours must be taken inclusive of all the terms during the summer session.

At CCSU, the 2007 Summer Term is the last term of the current academic school year. The Fall Term will begin a new three-term year of Fall, Spring, Summer.

To apply for federal education loans for both the 2007 Summer terms and the 2007-08 academic year, you must file two FAFSA’s:

·        2006-07 for the 2007 Summer Term reporting 2005 income, and

·        2007-08 for the Fall-Spring-Summer Terms reporting 2006 income

To apply for financial aid at CCSU:

 1.      Request a Personal Identification Number (PIN) at www.pin.ed.gov

·        You will need your PIN to electronically sign your FAFSA.

·        You will need your PIN to sign a Master Promissory Note for loans.

2.      File your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov.   Remember, you must file a FAFSA for two separate years if you plan to borrow for both the 2007 Summer terms and the 2007-08 academic year which includes the 2008 Summer terms.

There is no grant aid available for the Summer Term.  Academic year grant aid is very limited for graduate students and for students who have already earned a first bachelor’s degree.
