Understanding Financial Aid Awarding

It is important to us in helping you to afford an education at CCSU.  Of course the primary responsibility for your education costs rests with you and your family.  However, there are several funding sources available based on eligibility to help reduce the expenses of a university education.  The federal government, various state governments, and CCSU all provide funding sources to help families of students who demonstrate financial need.

Your are reminded that the first step in determining eligibility for any of these programs is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on line at www.fafsa.edu.  Filing for the academic year starts January 1.  For maximum consideration for financial aid at CCSU, the completed FAFSA and any other required documentation must be received and accepted by CCSU by the posted priority processing dates: March 1 for incoming freshmen and transfer students, and April 15 for all continuing CCSU students.
