CCSU Asian and Asian-themed Clubs
The purpose of the Aikido Club shall be to promote Aikido-the way of unity with the fundamental force of the universe; to further knowledge and skill of Aikido; and to, encourage one’s development to their full potential.
Asian Pop Culture Club
The purpose of the Asian Pop Culture Club shall be to promote awareness and appreciation of Japanese pop culture; to further the exchange of ideas, news, and creativity; and, to encourage the meeting of like-minded people with common interests.
Chinese Students Association
The Chinese Students Association is an undergraduate student-run campus club which educates Chinese culture through various activities and events. Our goal is to expand the communication between Chinese students and local friends; to experince some of the rich aspects of Chinese culture as well as to introduce and integrate cultures of other origins.
Japanese American Cultural Club
Japanese American Cultural Club, JACC, or “J-Club,” is a club for all students who have an interest in Japan’s traditional and modern culture. Come and learn about Japan’s culture through a variety of organized activities and make some great friends along the way.
Karate Club is open to male and female students interested in karate, emphasizes physical and mental development, and represents CCSU at demonstrations, competitions, and tournaments.
South Asian Students Association
The purpose of the South Asian Students Association (SASA) is to promote international friendship by improving intercultural relations and creating a stronger bond of unity between Eastern and Western cultures; to further the acknowledgment of South Asian countries (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh)- their culture, traditions, customs, norms, languages and religious belief; and, to encourage South Asian students to spread their culture by arranging activities such as field trips, cultural shows, and other cultural events.
