Coordinator Professional Counseling Program (Rehabilitation Counseling, Substance Abuse Counseling, and Mental Health Counseling)
Areas of expertise and current work:
Dr. Rosenberg has studied mind /body medicine and positive psychology extensively. Her teaching integrates mind/body interventions in her classroom and her clinical work. She works along with her students to deepen compassion and create environments in which learning is fostered. Her goals are to facilitate students in developing the attitudes and competencies to be of service to others.
Dr. Rosenberg developed the Rehabilitation Counseling specialization at CCSU in 1981. She currently coordinates the Professional Counseling Program, which is comprised of three tracks: Rehabilitation Counseling, Substance Abuse Counseling and Mental Health Counseling.
Her research is practitioner based and service oriented. She developed and administered a grant program, which established the ABLE Archives in the Burritt Library at CCSU. The ABLE Archives are a collection of materials (books, video tapes, curriculum) on Gender Equity. Additionally, she has written curriculum on gender equity and administered equity training programs.
Presently, Dr. Rosenberg co-directs a grant program for supported education funded by Department of Mental Health and Addictions. The program Central Access and Student Development (CASD) works with students in recovery from drug, alcohol or psychiatric difficulties.
She has worked as a School Psychologist, University Counselor, Drug and Alcohol Counselor and Psychologist. Dr. Rosenberg holds licenses in Connecticut as a Psychologist and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She is a Nationally Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NBCC). Dr. Rosenberg is a Kripaleu Certified Yoga instructor.
