Do you know the Policies and Regulations Regarding
Alcoholic Beverages at CCSU?
- The legal use of alcohol is permitted only in
designated sites on campus.*
- Alcohol is not permitted in residence hall rooms
or in offices.
- The illegal (underage) use of alcohol is not
permitted in any building or on the grounds of the campus.
- The possession, use, or distribution of illegal
drugs (controlled substances) on the campus is strictly prohibited.
*Designated sites include Marcus White Hall
Faculty Lounge; the Nutmeg Room of Memorial Hall; Founders Hall, Davidson
Hall; the Ballroom Complex and Semesters area of the Student Center.
10 things you should know:
1. It's illegal to drink in Connecticut if you are younger than
21.
2. It's illegal to sell alcoholic beverages without a license.
3. It's illegal to operate a motor vehicle under the influence
of alcoholic beverages.
4. It's illegal to serve alcohol to someone who is already drunk.
5. It's illegal to buy alcohol for, or provide it to anyone under
21.
6. It's illegal to transport, purchase, sell, possess or receive
alcoholic
beverages if you're under 21 (unless you sell or transport
alcohol for your job and your employer is licensed to sell
alcohol).
7. It's illegal to use a fake ID, to alter your ID, or to use
someone
else's ID to buy alcohol.
8. It's illegal to sell or posses drug paraphernalia in
Connecticut.
9. It's illegal to even be in a place where heroin is kept or to
be in the company of anyone known to possess heroin.
10. Drug convictions may make you ineligible for federal student
grants
and loans. |
