Tonight the Endowed Chair in Polish Studies is delighted to present a charming, informative discussion of the wit, wisdom, and lore of the Polish language by a distinguished scholar of Slavic languages and a specialist in Polish.  Dr. Robert Rothstein is Professor of Slavic and Judaic Studies and of Comparative Literature at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst where he also serves as Director of the Program in Slavic and East European Studies.  Prof. Rothstein writes a regular column in the journal

Bialy Orzel concerning the complex and fascinating story of the Polish language.  The presentation will be in English and all those who are fascinated by language will be richly rewarded by their attendance.

 

The lecture is FREE and the public is cordially invited.
