Liability & Protocols

Before starting a community engagement project it is helpful to consider what, if any, liability concerns may need to be addressed . Such issues as transportation, Certificate of Insurance requirements, waivers, background checks, and other needs can be addressed through careful planning and collaboration with the Office of Community Engagement and the CCSU Business Office.

CCSU has a system of policies regarding liability for faculty and staff who are undertaking engagement work with the community. These policies are in place to protect campus departments and the University in the event of an incident or accident. CCSU’s Business Office handles all inquiries regarding liability.
