The Passport program is an opportunity for freshman students to participate in a structured, guided international travel experience. The program will provide students with a first-hand opportunity to experience the history of London and contemporary British culture. The structured 6-day program (4 full days in-country) will be led by Jarek Strzemien, Professor Emeritus of Theatre at CCSU, and co-chaperoned by a member of the CIE staff.

The travel program fee for this program is $700. A $300 deposit is required at the time of registration. The $400 balance will be due (via the student's Pipeline account) on December 1, 2008.

Participation in this program requires a valid passport. Students who presently possess a passport should check its expiration date and apply for a new passport as needed. Students who do not yet have a U.S. passport should visit http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html for instructions on how to apply for a U.S. passport. Students should apply for a passport no later than September 15 to ensure the application is processed in time.
What is not included in the Program Cost:
Passport fees, breakfast and lunch, personal expenses such as telephone calls, and excess baggage fees imposed by the airline.
Information about the accommodations being used for this program:
Students will be housed in British-style dormitory accommodation, which have shared bathrooms and access to a full kitchen. Bed linens and towels are provided. Washers and dryers are available, free of charge (some are in individual apartments, others in central laundry rooms). Each apartment will have a telephone able to accept incoming calls and with the capability to make outgoing calls with a phone card or credit card. Students will be assigned to apartments prior to departure and provided with the telephone number in their room. Wireless Internet connection is provided in each apartment building, free of additional charge. Smoking is not permitted in the residence halls. Any charges resulting from damage to residential property will be shared equally among program participants assigned to the apartment in which the damage occurred, unless specific student(s) claim responsibility. No overnight guests are permitted in the residence halls. No noise is permitted in the residence hall after 10:30 p.m.
Cancellation Policy and Fees:
The cancellation deadline for this program is October 1, 2008. Students needing to cancel their participation in this program must submit written notice of the cancellation to Ms. Lisa Marie Bigelow in the Center for International Education prior to the close of business (4:30 p.m.) on October 1, 2008. Cancellations received after the cancellation deadline are subject to a $150 cancellation penalty, plus all non-refundable travel payments CCSU has made on the student's behalf (i.e., the full cost of the airline ticket).
