Passport & Visas

Passports

A valid passport is required for all course abroad programs.  The expiration date of the passport should be at least six months beyond the intended date of return travel.

Information on how to obtain or renew a U.S. passport may be found on the State Department’s website at http://www.travel.state.gov.

Individuals who travel on a foreign passport should contact their country’s nearest consulate or embassy to obtain information on replacing or renewing their passport.  A listing of the foreign consulates and embassies in the U.S. can be found on the web at:

www.state.gov/www/travel/consular_offices/fco_index.html

Visas

If U.S. citizens are required to obtain a visa for travel to a course abroad destination, the Center for International Education will provide the necessary information and applications.  Individuals who carry a foreign passports should alert the Center for International Education ahead of time so that they can determine whether or not a visa is necessary for that individual.
