Kameka Weir
(Class of 2003)
My undergraduate years at CCSU as a MIS student helped in preparing me for the IT and Business world. I have gained enough knowledge about many different fields in IT, such as web development, networking, project management, etc.
In my MIS courses, I was given projects that were related to the real world. The projects made the students learn how to do research and how to find questions to answers with out directly asking for the answer.
Studying MIS was a way for me to see what about IT truly liked.
I was able to gain additional IT work experience by working on campus as a student worker for ITS. This work experience combined with what I was learning in class provided me with a
solid foundation. I could take
those knowledge and apply them to the real world,
especially now that I am employed
full-time at The Travelers,
Hartford, CT.
