Courses Abroad

The anthropology department runs courses abroad, ANTH 451 Field Schools in Cultural Anthropology, regularly in either the Winter, Spring or Summer sessions. These courses are also cross-linked for International Studies and graduate credit. Recently students have traveled to Kerala, India, Ghana, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Chile, all countries where the anthropology faculty have experience and expertise. While on the course abroad, the students have the opportunity to tour the country, employ anthropological field methods, engage with national and community leaders as well as ordinary people. Typically, the Field Schools include a home stay with local families.
