Some recently completed projects include an expansion and renovation of the  Student Center, a top-to-bottom renovation of Sheridan Residence Hall, a new Arute Stadium and field lighting, the new Vance Academic Center classroom and office building and parking garage, Davidson Hall elevator, complete renovation of Copernicus Hall, the new campus Energy Center and utility tunnels, renovation and expansion of Kaiser Hall, the new Welte Parking Garage, the park-like center mall, the new Early Learning Center,  Memorial Hall first floor renovations, and mechanical room renovations in both general fund and auxilliary fund buildings, replacement of the Detrick Gymnasium basketball floor, and most recently, a top-to-bottom renovation of Gallaudet Residence Hall, newly opened for the Spring/2006 semester. 

Recently, the historic smokestack on the original campus Powerhouse was removed. This demolition project was completed in one week. The Powerhouse is the second oldest building on campus; Davidson Hall, which included all offices, classrooms, gymnasium and locker facilities, library, and a threatre,  was completed in the late 1920s, with Marcus White Hall following as the women's residence hall.  The design of these three buildings set the tone for features incorporated into more recent campus buildings - such as the Robert Vance Academic Center and parking garage, the Energy Center, and the Welte Parking Garage, as well as the design elements used in the renovation of many of the university's residence halls.

Currently underway is an asbestos abatement and renovation project in Vance Residence Hall.  The top two floors (5th & 6th) were closed for the Spring/2006 semster; the remaining floors closed at the end of the Spring semester, and the entire building will reopen for the Fall/2006 semester.  Future projects in the planning stage include a new university police station, Admissions building, a new classroom and office building, renovations to the Willard and DiLoreto classroom buildings,  and a complete overhaul of existing outdoor athletics and recreation facilities, including the installation of a state-of-the-art track and field facility around the existing soccer field.
