Elise Silkowski

WCSU-AAUP Office Assistant

Elise returned to her position as Office Assistant at the WCSU-AAUP office in fall 2007 after an eight-year hiatus spent raising two children. In addition to the three years of previous experience with WCSU-AAUP, Elise also has several years of union experience working for the Connecticut United Labor Agency as an Administrative Secretary, helping displaced workers assemble viable resumes for re-employment.

Elise graduated from The University of Connecticut with a BA in English and continued on to receive her Teaching Certification and a Masters in Education. Currently, she also works part-time at the C.H. Booth Library in Newtown, CT where she has developed and taught Passport to Adventure, a five-week summer course for elementary age children who want to learn about different countries and cultures.
