Standard 7: Library & Other Information Resources Action Plan
The
committee met for the first time on April 12, 2007. Members in
attendance: Bob Cernock, Chair Jim Blaha IT Lisa Ricci-Washko IT Tina Rivera-Rowe IT Susan Slaga, Library Jeanne Sohn, Library
Introductions were done and identification of ‘point’ persons was made. Jim Blaha will be the point person for IT-related tasks and information and Jeanne Sohn will be the point person for library-related tasks and information.
Together the group reviewed the documentation put together by Jeanne Sohn for the last accreditation period. It was felt by all present that this previous documentation was very well done and a good example of what the final document for the current accreditation process might resemble. Much has changed, of course, but the basic format is sound.
Together the group reviewed the current information requirements for standard 7 for the purpose of identifying the types of data/information needed to be gathered, how best to gather this data/information, who outside of the committee could be polled for supporting information, how that polling might best take place and to make a first pass at identifying the best ways to go about this information gathering process. We also made the determination as to whether a specific requirement of the standard would be best seen as a “library” element, an “IT” element, or shared between the two so that the best human resources can be focused on a particular piece. This process of identifying what information is needed, how to go about getting it, and who would be focusing on the collection provides the initial input into the formation of our action plan to progress through the description and assessment steps of the process.
