COMMITTEE ACTION PLAN
NEASC Standard 3: Organization
& Governance
- The Committee will meet on the third
Monday of each month, at 11 a.m., with the exception of
April, 2007 when we will meet on the fourth Monday. Meeting
dates for 2007 are: April 23, May 21, June 18, July 16,
August 20, September 17, October 15, November 19, and
December 17, 2007.
- Each member of the Committee will
read, review, analyze and critique the Organization and
Governance Standard from the CCSU Self-Study Report written
in 1998; the NEASC response to the Standard; the NEASC
Accreditation Standard for Organization and Governance; and
the AGB Statement on Institutional Governance and
Governing in the Public Trust brochure provided by
Trustee Balducci at the 4/5 meeting.
- At the April 23 meeting, we will
discuss whether the Description portion of the
current Standard is still valid, and what, if any changes or
corrections should be made to the description of the actual
structure of organization and governance.
- At the April 23 meeting, we will
identify and chronicle all governance changes since the 1998
report, starting with the Board of Trustees, through the CSU
System Office, to the University. Committee members will be
identified to conduct interviews for the “Appraisal” section
including, but not limited to, members of the BOT; the
Chancellor; the Chancellor’s Chief of Staff and Associate
Vice Chancellor for Human Resources; the Presidents of AAUP
and SUOAF; the President of the Faculty Senate; President
Miller; and members of the CCSU Executive Committee.
Questions will include: What do we value? What is being done
well? What needs to be improved?
- At the April 23, 2007 meeting, we will
also assign committee members to identify and gather the
necessary descriptive documents for the “Description”
section.
- Interviews will be conducted
throughout May and June, 2007.
- The information from the interviews
and documents will be reviewed and compiled at the June 18
and July 16 meetings and we will begin drafting the
‘‘Description” section for submission at the end of August.
- The Committee will begin drafting the
Appraisal section at the September, 2007, using the
information gathered in the interviews.
