Miscellaneous Scholarships

 

CCSU Alumni Association Scholarship (2001)

  • Provides scholarship support for the children and grandchildren of CCSU graduates or its predecessors.

  • Matriculated undergraduate students at CCSU with 54 hours of earned academic credit and a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average.

  • Student must be registered for at least 9 credits in the semester to which the scholarship is being applied.

  • Student must demonstrate qualities of service, leadership and academic achievement.

  • Preference will be given to a student with documented efforts to finance higher education costs through full or part time employment.

    Special Application Instructions:

    • Applicants shall submit an essay stating why the candidate believes he/she deserves the scholarship.

    • Please identify the alumnus, degree, class year and relationship.

    • Recipient is expected to perform 6 hours of service in the Alumni Office.

Karen Beyard Scholarship (2120)

  • Support for a full-time employee of CCSU in a bargaining unit that does not provide tuition waivers.

  • Part-time matriculant who demonstrate qualities of service, leadership and academic achievement.

CSEA - Chapter 31 Scholarship (2300)

  • Children of CCSU teaching faculty.

    Special Application Instructions:

    • Please identify the employee and relationship.

Carl Krein Scholarship (2530)

  • Awarded to students in athletic training.

Virginia Wicks Vidich Scholarship (2890)

  • Supports students who have the underlying character and ability to be successful but whose personal, economic or social circumstances have put them at risk.

    Special Application Instructions:

    • This scholarship is based upon nominations to the University Scholarship Committee therefore applications for this scholarship are not accepted.

Grace Hirst Creed & Dr. Harold Bingham Scholarship (9115)

  • Connecticut resident

  • Matriculated undergraduate student with 30 hours of earned academic credit at CCSU

  • Demonstrated lack of sufficient means to meet the cost of higher education thereby financing education costs through full and part-time employment

  • Demonstrated qualities of service, leadership and academic achievement

Special Application Instructions:

  • Please submit a detailed narrative statement describing how you meet the criteria listed above.
