A New Wave,
a feature film produced locally and filmed at CCSU and other Connecticut
locations, had its in-state premiere showing on August 23, 2007, in
Welte Auditorium. Film producer Bruce Seymour is a Plainville resident
and a 1998 CCSU graduate. Seymour describes the film as a “crime
comedy.” In the film, when a bank teller and his friends plan a
movie-inspired bank robbery, the intricately designed plan puts the main
characters’ friendship on the line. “The bank teller must choose between
selling out—or cashing in,” says Seymour.
The film is directed by
Manchester native Jason Carvey and features noted actors John Krasinksi
(The Office, License to Wed, and Shrek 3), Lacy Chabert (Mean
Girls and Party of Five), Andrew Keegan (10 Things I Hate
About You and 7th Heaven), Dean Edwards (Saturday Night
Live), William Sadler (Shawshank Redemption, Die Hard 2,
and Roswell), and Wass Stevens (World Trade Center).
