Major in Social Sciences, B.S. (Certifiable for secondary teaching)
54 credits as follows: 18 credits in History: HIST 121 or 142 and 122 or 143 and
261, 262 and 6 elective credits, three of which must be in non-western history.
18 credits in one Social Science discipline (Anthropology, Economics, Geography,
Political Science or Sociology) as required by that department for a minor for
secondary certificate students.
18 credits from six of the following courses (not to be duplicative of the
second category above and must be in a minimum of three additional Social
Science disciplines): SOC 110 or ANTH 140, ECON 200, 201; GEOG 110, 120; PS 104,
110; PSY 112.
In addition, students must complete SSCI 415, SSCI 421, SPED 315, EDTE 315, EDT
315, RDG 440, EDF 415, EDSC 425 and EDSC 435, as well as PSY 236. No minor is
required.
