Connecticut's Outstanding Biology Teacher Award
(OBTA)
Each year the National Association of Biology Teachers (NABT) selects one high school biology teacher from each state to present the Outstanding Biology Teacher's Award to. Recipients are recognized for their outstanding performance in the classroom as well as their involvement with the school and community.
Biology/life science teachers (grades 7-12) who have at least three years experience in public, private, or parochial schools are eligible for this award. Candidates should demonstrate outstanding teaching skills, creative/participatory laboratory activities, and an honest dedication to the profession. The following are recipients of CT's OBTA:

Ms. Monica Kreuzer 2007 recipient
The CTABT and Manchester Community College sponsor an Annual Lecture/Reception in honor of the recipient, during which time the award is presented. This event is held at the Manchester Community College Fireside Commons in the Autumn of each year. The recipient is also honored at an Honors Luncheon at the Annual NABT Convention.
