Cost: The cost of the program, exclusive of tuition and registration fees, is approximately $1,995 per person, based on double occupancy and a minimum of 9 participants.

Field Studies in ManagementStudents enrolled in this course will travel to Munich, Germany and Innsbrück, Austria on a field studies program focusing on current trends in business management. Emphasis will be on American competitive advantage in a global business context and critical analysis of contemporary international business management and research. The objective of this course is to provide opportunities to observe the application of the knowledge, roles, responsibilities, and skills required of modern managers.
The academic program will include visiting businesses in the winter sport and hospitality industry. Typical site visits include major hotels, (i.e., Europa, InterContinental); world-class winter sport venues (i.e., Stubai Glacier, Axmer Liuzum); and local businesses (i.e., Gossamer Foundry, Sworavsky Glass Works). Students will meet with managers in companies as well as with public officials. While in Austria, students will meet with faculty and students at the University of Innsbrück.
Students will conduct independent research with a focus on comparative management. Class sessions will be held on the CCSU campus prior to and after the trip to establish research agendas and present results. The travel component of the course will occur January 4-14, 2008.
The cost of the program includes round-trip economy class airfare, airport transfers in the U.S. and abroad, 9 nights’ double occupancy hotel (2 nights in Munich and 7 nights in Innsbruck), breakfast daily, dinner daily while in Innsbruck (7 nights), ground transportation and entrance fees to all required sites, and mandatory supplemental insurance.
