Summer in the Mediterranean The Marketing Department proudly invites you to visit three English-speaking islands in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. Nestled sixty miles under Sicily, the islands of Malta, Gozo and Comino are a unique mix of Sicilian and British cultures. Beaches are everywhere. Thousands-year old temples overlook the fishing boats trawling the crystal clear blue waters. These islands of beauty and peace are the latest addition to the European Union.
Enjoy an academic immersion in marketing courses and readings applied to different cultures. Experience first hand international marketing as we move across the islands. Your academic curiosity will extend from the vast underground chambers of ancient times to the narrow streets that meander through the old open-air markets; from the Calypso isle of Homer’s Odyssey to the Grand Harbor (the favorite leisure port of the US Navy’s 6th Fleet).
Tour by fishing boat the best snorkeling and swimming sites in the Mediterranean. Take intermittent dips in azure beaches. Cultural museums and prehistoric temples abound, preserved for you, compressing their time for your appreciation. This is the dolce vita that masks the epic battles that raged over these islands from the Ottoman empire battling the Knights of Malta in the Great Siege of 1565, to the USAAF’s invasion of Sicily from a makeshift runway in Gozo during the Second World War.
English and Maltese are the official languages of the Maltese Islands. Professor Bonnici speaks both languages fluently. He designed and will lead this study abroad program. The cost of this program, exclusive of tuition, registration fees, and the required supplemental medical evacuation insurance, is approximately $1,995 per person. The price includes: round-trip economy class airfare, motorcoach transfers, lodging, daily breakfast, welcome and farewell dinners, transport and entrance fees to all required sites.
