CCSU Team
Places Third In Travelers IT Business Case
Competition
A team
of CCSU students competing in the Travelers IT
Business Case Competition on November 16, won 3rd
place! Team members were Steve Conforti, Justin
DiMarco, Steven Edwards, and David Lewis.
Syracuse
University
placed 1st
and Worcester Polytechnic University placed 2nd.
Teams from the University of Connecticut and the
University of Wisconsin placed 4th
and 5th, respectively.
The
competition was an all-day event. At the
beginning of the day the competing teams each
selected a case topic. CCSU’s team selected the
topic “Travelers Goes Green.” Teams were given
several hours to prepare a case and
presentation. Professor of Management
Information Systems Marianne D’Onofrio reports
that, “The CCSU team did an excellent job of
delivering a very high level technical case and
presentation, ‘From Red to Green,’ which
included server virtualization and other energy
saving initiatives.”
CCSU
faculty team sponsors were Dr. Olga Petkova and
Dr. Tom
Jarmoszko,
both members of the Department of Management
Information Systems.
