to Honor Regional Educational Leader
NEW BRITAIN –
April 21, 2008 - The CCSU Department of
Educational Leadership and the CCSU Alumni
Association will host a networking reception
honoring local, state and regional educational
leaders, April 22.
The event is scheduled to take from 4-6:30 p.m.
in Alumni Hall, located in the Central
Connecticut State University Student Center.
The honored guests include Dr. Patricia Charles,
Superintendent of the Westbrook Schools, Enrico
Buccilli, Principal of Dag Hammarskojold Middle
School, Wallingford, Amy Clark, Assistant
Principal, Katherine Brennan School, New Haven,
Russell Duffy, Assistant
Principal, Wilcox Technical High School, Meriden
and Amanda Kiszka-Curtis, Social Studies
Teacher, Wolcott Vocational Technical School,
Torrington.
All of the honorees are graduates of CCSU’s
Educational Leadership program who have gone on
to earn important recognition in the field of
education.
Dr. Charles was the winner of the 2008 Paul
Salmon Scholarship Award of the American
Association of School Administrators (AASA).
She earned her Doctorate in Educational
Leadership at CCSU this year.
Buccilli, who earned a Sixth-Year certificate on
1982, was named the 2007 Middle School Principal
of the Year by the Connecticut Association of
Schools (CAS).
Ms. Clark was also
honored recently by CAS. She was chosen as the
group’s 2008 Elementary School Principal of the
Year. She earned her Sixth-Year certificate at
CCSU in 2004.
Mr.
Duffy, a Master’s of Science graduate of CCSU in
2006, was the
2007 Assistant Principal of the Year for the
Connecticut Tech High School System (CTHSS).
Ms. Kiszka-Curtis,
who earned her undergraduate degree at CCSU in
2001 and a Master’s of Science degree this year,
was the 2007 Teacher of the Year at the Oliver
Wolcott Regional Vocational Technical School.
