CCSU’s Theatre Department presents lively phantasmagoria
“Suicide King and One-Eyed Jacks” on November 10 at 7:30
p.m.; admission is free
NEW BRITAIN – November 7, 2007 -- Central Connecticut State
University’s Theatre Department will present “Suicide King
and One-Eyed Jacks,” a collaborative performance written,
directed, and performed by six senior CCSU acting students.
It will be performed in Torp Theatre, in the CCSU
administration building on Stanley Street, on Saturday,
November 10 at 7:30 p.m. The
performance is open to the public, and free parking is
available in campus parking lots.
“The production is a lively phantasmagoria, comprised
of a series of short stories both personal and fantastical,”
according to Lani Johnson, professor and chair of the
Theatre Dept. “While the subject matter ranges from
addiction to acrobatics, comedy to horror, and abstract to
stark realism, ‘Suicide King’ is ultimately just about
making your way through this complicated life. It has been
reworked for a chance to reach a broader audience. All are
invited and encouraged to join us for one riotous night.”
“Suicide King and One-Eyed Jacks” features performances by
Zachariah Delventhal, Mary Jo Calvo, Sarah Hutchinson
Warner, Vanessa Clarke-Bligh,
Kate Bunce, and Patrick Wheeler.
