The Department of
Design (Graphic / Information) at CCSU offers a Bachelors Degree in
Graphic / Information Design and a Masters Degree in Information
Design—and a world of exciting post-graduate opportunities. Graduates of
the program hold jobs as art directors, creative directors and designers
with well-known advertising agencies, corporate communication
departments, Web-design houses, publishers, broadcasters and multimedia
/ animation studios. Alumni have provided award-winning design solutions
to many national and international brands and organizations including
NIKE, ESPN, Nestle Waters, Guinness Imports, McDonalds, and Volkswagen
America. Our faculty have backgrounds in graphic design, fine art,
advertising, illustration, marketing, computer science, website design,
interactive multimedia design, 3-d design and animation.

Wujun Wang, Assistant Professor, College of Zhang Jiang University of Technology, Hangzhou, China, Presentation: “Human Centered Design.” Sharokin Betgevargiz, Instructor, Middle East Studies Association, Boston MA, Presentation: “A Design of an Assyrian Identity”;The New School, New York, NY, Presentation: “Visualizing Iraqi Politics and Cultures in Iraq and Diaspora”; Studio 323, Hartford, CT, Presentation: “Reflection Patina Pattern.” Nikita Prokhorov, Instructor, Logo Lounge, Publication: Two logos selected for publication in vol. 4 Recent Student Accomplishments include: the Spring 2007 Central Design Studio (the department-operated design studio course led by Professor Susan Vial) is being awarded by the Connecticut Art Directors Club for the outstanding design of three posters for the Multicultural Leadership Institute and one poster for the CCSU Office of Prevention and Counseling. The students being awarded are Jamie Paakkonen, Blair Carney, Stephen Meszaros and Sarah Dupuis. The CADC is also awarding students, from a previous Central Design class, for the outstanding design of a 144- page hard cover book entitled “Canton Connecticut 1806-2006”. The students honored are Melissa Nardiello, Jessica Keller, Nick Corey and Lorena Iturrino. Summer Internships have been awarded to the following students:
