Standards for Admissions to Other Majors with
Acceptance Procedures:
ART
- A portfolio of at least ten works for consideration
by the art faculty
ATHLETIC TRAINING
- Completion of a minimum of 45 semester hours at
Central Connecticut State University
- Successful completion of 200 hours in the clinical
aspect of athletic training at CCSU
- Successful completion of PE 112, PE 213, PE 217, IT
380 with grades of C- or better
- Achieve a 2.50 of better GPA in PE Major courses
applicable to the program
- Achieve an over-all University GPA of 2.00 or better
- Two letter of recommendation
- The presentation of an essay that demonstrates the
command of the English language and
setting out the reasons for
wanting to enroll in the athletic training option including pertinent
experiences
- An interview with the Department Personnel Committee
EXERCISE SCIENCE AND HEALTH PROMOTION PROGRAM
- Completion of a minimum of 45 semester hours at
Central Connecticut State University
- Successful completion of five (5) semester hours in
required major courses including PE 213 Anatomy in Physical Education and
two (2) semester hours of skill activity courses
- A minimum 2.5 GPA in the Physical Education Major
courses
- A minimum 2.5 overall University GPA
- Two letters of recommendation
- The presentation of an essay demonstrating the
command of the English language and setting out the reasons for wanting to
enroll in the program, emphasizing experiences relative to Exercise
Science and Health Promotion
- An interview with the Department Personnel Committee
GRAPHIC INFORMATION DESIGN
- Completion of Des 122 with a
grade of 85 or better
- Overall GPA of 2.5 recommended
MUSIC
·
Consultation with the chairperson of the Music Department
·
Audition with members of the Music faculty
·
Passing of proficiency tests in theory and piano
SOCIAL WORK*
·
Completion of SW 226 and SW 227, as well as six specific
General Education courses (Consult a curriculum guide.)
·
A minimum grade point average of 2.5 in all Social Work
courses and at least a “C” average in all courses required for the major
(See curriculum guide)
·
Successful work and/or volunteer experience in the field,
verified by employer references
and/or evaluations
·
Demonstrated writing skills
·
Completion of an application
·
Personal interview
* Until accepted into the program, students
will be considered Pre-Communication or Pre-Social Work majors and should
go to the Advising Center (Willard 100) for academic advising.
