To complete your application, follow the procedures listed below and be sure to mail the $50 check or money order and official transcript(s) to CCSU: Office of Recruitment & Admissions, Central Connecticut State University, 1615 Stanley Street, P.O. Box 4010, New Britain, CT 06050-4010.


UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSIONS INSTRUCTIONS


All materials requested should be sent directly to CCSU by the high school guidance office or College Registrars office. Hand carried or student copies will not be accepted.

The application must be typed or printed clearly in ink. When completing the section "Academic Program," take care to select only a major available for that degree or certification level. When complete in every detail, First Year applicants should give it to their principal or director of guidance who should forward the completed application to the University. Transfer students may submit their completed application directly to the University.

The information furnished by you on your Application for Admission, together with all other information and materials received by the Admissions Office from any source, will be kept completely confidential. It will not be disclosed to anyone, except that the Director of Admissions may, for official purposes only, release information according to the provisions of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974.

Application Fee. A non-refundable application fee of $50 must accompany your application. Make check or money order payable to Central Connecticut State University. Your cancelled check or money order is your receipt.

First Year (Freshman) Applicants. Any first year student should submit scores from the Scholastic Assessment Tests administered by the College Entrance Examination Board. You should request that CEEB send the results to CCSU. All necessary information about the SAT I may be obtained from any high school guidance office.

Equivalency Diploma. If you did not graduate from high school, you must submit a copy of your General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and test scores. Applicants should also request that their former high school send a transcript. Please contact your State Department of Education for GED information. In Connecticut call (860) 638-4153.

Transfer Students. Any student transferring from a post-secondary institution must submit an official transcript from each institution of higher education attended. Failure to list such institutions on the application form or to provide said transcripts from each may be considered sufficient reason for refusal of admission or dismissal from the University. Transfer students must also submit final high school transcripts or GED diploma.

International Students. CCSU provides a separate application form for International applicants, the Application for International Undergraduate Admission. Applicants should complete this International application form. Students residing outside the USA are required to submit a completed International application six months prior to the anticipated entry date.

For those whose native language is not English, the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required. Arrangements to take the TOEFL should be made by contacting TOEFL Programs and Services, Educational Testing Services, CN 6154, Princeton, NJ 08541-6154, USA.

Optional: You may submit a personal statement, hand or type written, of 200-300 words describing one experience which has had real impact on your development as a person.

Admission Policy. Admission to Central Connecticut State University depends upon the academic credentials presented by the applicant. No applicant is rejected because of race, color, religious belief, or national origin. The Dean of Student Affairs is the University's compliance officer. Campus Safety Statement.
