What would YOU do?

One of the purposes of the Academic Integrity Project is to promote discussion among faculty and students about academic misconduct issues and their consequences. Our discussion of academic integity begins with a series of dilemmas. Although some actions are clear violations of the Student Misconduct Policy, there are others where the right or wrong of a particular behavior is not clear. Even when it is clear that a particular behavior is unethical there can be disagreement about what is an appropriate response.

Click on a dilemma statement to read what others have to say, and to add your own observations. Please add your name to your offering if you feel comfortable doing this. Thank you.

As you leave a midterm exam, you realize that the person behind you has been copying your answers. You know that cheating on exams is not only wrong, but is in violation of the Student Misconduct Code. What would YOU do?
