Faculty Ideas and Recommendations
Dr. Neil M. Glagovich President Judd: The following is a proposal for a realignment of the various departments at Central Connecticut State University. This proposal tries to group academic areas of common interest, while minimizing the administrative needs required for the smooth operation of the University. There would be four schools and they would be constituted as follows: School of Arts and Humanities Communication Criminal Justice Design English History Modern Languages Music Philosophy Political Science Sociology and Social Work Theatre School of Business Economics (formerly in School of Arts and Sciences) Finance Management Management Information Systems Manufacturing and Construction Management (formerly in School of Technology) Marketing School of Education and Professional Studies Counseling and Family Therapy Physical Education and Health Fitness Studies Reading and Language Arts Special Education Teacher Education Technology Education (formerly in School of Technology) School of Science Biological Sciences (either as a whole or as two separate departments) Chemistry Computer Electronics and Graphics Technology (formerly in School of Technology) Computer Science Engineering Technology (formerly in School of Technology) Geography Mathematical Sciences Nursing (formerly in School of Education and Professional Studies) Physics/Earth Sciences Psychology Of course, this is only my proposal, but I would appreciate the chance to work with anyone interested in this project. I do believe that reorganization would be advantageous to the University, and I wanted to give you my two cents worth. Thank you for your time and attention. Neil M. Glagovich, Ph.D. |
